The Flying Clouds

Gospel Group

The Flying Clouds of SC are on the verge of reaching heights unknown. The trajectory of this group has been climbing for 60+ years. As they look to preserve the tradition & core essence of who the Flying Clouds were, they are super excited as to where “A New Beginning” of the Flying Clouds will take them!

The Flying Clouds have been playing gospel music with a southern rock flare that have allowed them to venture into some beautiful places on the east cost. In the coming year, they are looking to venture into new territory and expand their reach.

They are a group of musicians whose unique Gospel sound has spanned over 6 decades. Over the years, the group has played at well known festivals such as Nelsonville, Shakori Hills Grassroots, The Leaf, and Finger Lakes Grassroots. The group's most recent album is titled, "A New Beginning" and can be purchased on several musical platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

Marvin Matthews

Gospel Artist

Marvin Matthews began studying music at age eight. His credits since then include the following: he started the first gospel choir at his junior high school in D.C., toured Romania at age18, was a featured soloist with the world-famous Spurrlows, sang contemporary gospel music in opera houses throughout Europe, electrified the Philippines on Martin After Dark the number one rated television show in that country, and the list goes on. Marvin has also performed as the entertainment at three Summer Olympic Games (Barcelona, Atlanta, and Sydney).

Marvin has twelve recordings to his credit including "Christmas" and "Hymns for Him - A contemporary collection of timeless hymns" and two DVD presentations. As always, there's a touch of jazz, a bit of hip-hop, some light pop and, of course, the traditional gospel music foundation upon which Christian music rests. He has made sure his projects provide something special for every listening ear while maintaining the integrity of "the call."

A tireless concert artist, Marvin has worked with a host of popular artists including Debbie Boone, Andrae Crouch, the late Bob Hope, Mark Lowry, Little Richard, Karen Wheaton, Deniece Williams, and CeCe Winans. He has been featured on most major Christian networks, including The Word Network, TBN and CBN.

Marvin's desire is to affect change and provide a place of joy where hopelessness has prevailed. He really "sings because he is happy and he sings because he is free" (lyrics from His Eye is on the Sparrow on the "Hymns For Him" and "The CCM Set" CDs).

God vigorously uses Marvin's musical talent, but much more, he uses his heart...a heart that He has developed in this contemporary gospel artist over the years. Truly, the only thing greater than Marvin's voice is his love for Jesus, his family and the body of Christ to which he ministers.
